Change Of Affiliate Tactics

This week im going to try something a little different than I have before, rather than just stick to ClickBank, im going to try to affiliate software instead, I found a nice affiliate site I like the look of, took me about 2 mins to discover that some of these products range from $5 – $30,000!!, and you can get up to 75% commission, on the $30,000 product you make 25% so $7500!!, nice ah;).

Doing my first part of keyword research some of the CTR’s for the software was pretty eye opening, but I’ve still got allot more research to do first before I try anything.

My goal for this week is too try and sell at least one software product, obviously im not going to start with the $30k beast!, but maybe I can work my way up to that point?.

So im off to further drill down the keyword research with Market Samurai, ill update this post over the next week to let you know how its going, if all goes well I’ll post a video on what and how I did it, if it crashes and burns then we shall mention this post no more!, and ill abandon my idea like an old run down shack!.

Monday Jan 12th 9.30pm

Done with keyword research for the first software product, set up Google/Yahoo Ads both with a daily budget of $10.00 and a CPC(cost per click) of $0.25, but had to adjust 3 in Google to hit the first page but only to $0.40.

Google ad stats started to come back in about 5mins, still waiting on the Yahoo ones?, one of the keywords in Google is getting allot of impressions, so its just as well ive targeted my ad with the price listed within the ad copy itself…

Thursday Jan 15th 7.55pm

Yesterday I set up a sales page for the software, the product site allowed me to direct link right into the checkout page which was the first time I tried this, so I set up the sales page which allowed the visitors to enter name/email then hit submit to get to the cart if they liked what they saw on the sales page, this also allowed me to grab their information before they made a purchase.

Unfortunately I only picked up 4 emails but no sales so far, I also had one person unsubscribe from that list too, so now down to 3, but thats still 3 people I can hit with the email auto-responder I set up, GO AWEBER!!.

Just about ten minutes ago I tried Facebook PPC for the first time, Ive put up an ad for this software and am waiting on the feedback from it, ill post soon on the results…

acc zero

Big fat zero;)), sometimes what you learn from the failures form the foundation for a great big success, what do I mean by that??. Trying this out over the last week has been a real eye opener, not only in my first squeeze/sales page, but the fact that it sucked!, really badly, but I was still able to get a few people to sign up to that squeeze page and stay on my list!, this means that even though I did not sell any software this week, I could do in the future with that list!.

So from a bad sales letter you can still get good results, imagine what a great sales letter will do!, and it may not have even been the sales letter itself, their are a variety of other reasons why it may not have sold?, maybe if the product could have been paid for using PayPal rather than just a Credit Card?.

Another surprise was my first time using Facebook PPC!!, that PPC  is crazy!, it must have took 20 minutes to go through $10!, and in that 20 mins over 100,000 impressions with 40 clicks, not even cheesy boy bands use that many clicks on albums!;).

If you think using up $10 that quick is bad, its actually not, in fact it could be a really good thing, think if you had a decent product, a great ad, and you know who to target with your ad!, that’s where the good stuff is if you use Facebook PPC, you can actually target just the type of people you want, even by age!!!, crazy ah!. Oh and not as expensive per click as Google can be.

I think im going to use Facebook PPC allot more, but in the future ill target allot better than I did for this product, I just wanted to get my ad in front of as many people as I could, and that’s what happened in just about 20 mins too.

I’ll keep on trying this software affiliate stuff until I sell at least one!, if I learned this much from just one week, hopefully in a month I’ll be selling more software than Amazon!, ok  not gonna happen but you know what I mean:).
