After I launched The Twitter Technique I had no idea what to expect, it being my first report and all the only thing I really expected to grace its front cover was tumbleweed and a cockroach, I know it works very well, but I just didn’t have the experience to know what would happen next.
What I did know was a little PPC(Google Adwords), its a great feeling to know that your paying for clicks to a product you created yourself, this was the first thing I did after the report went live,I then posted the report in a couple of forums, and started to talk about it in a few other places around the web.
First Sale
A couple of hours after the report went live it made its first sale!, another great feeling was seeing that paypal email come into the inbox, it meant that all the hard work paid off, I never set a huge goal of sales for it, I just wanted to sell ONE copy at first, then see where it went from that point on.
The first sale followed up by another sale coming from a forum post, don’t underestimate forums when you launch your product live, just make sure its a relative one, and its ok to post about your product in that forum.
Later on that evening I was out with a friend($1 beer and chicken wings night) actually discussing my report, or should I say trying too, some skeptical looks and half smiles came back at me, but as I was showing them the page on my phone, I received another email about sale number 3!!!, “DRINKS ON ELLIOT” :-/.
Its funny how people change thoughts about things as soon as they see tangible proof of earnings, after this sale they asked me more and more questions about it, I guess money does talk;).
The Day After
Its now well into the second day and a few hours after returning from the “day job”, I made it home to see another 2 sales in my inbox, and I didn’t do anything to promote it all day, thats what you call passive income right;).
One of the best things about it has also been the great feedback from the report, its nice to have people say how much they like it after all that work went into creating it in the first place, its a great feeling.
Im now back at the helm and actively thinking of ways to market it as I write this post, a few more ideas come to mind to give it a try, I figure I might as well learn as much as I can from this first report, that way with follow up reports I can have a much more streamlined approach.
Dr Phil-liate
So far im affiliate-less, the main reason for this is I wanted to make sure I have some stats to show future affiliates how the report is converting, this way I can also find which keywords work the best using PPC also.
If I can get a bunch of affiliates promoting the report, I can then spend more time improving the sales letter and tracking all the stats that come in, plus trying to do all the work by myself is a lot to keep up with, after im done with it ill probably need a few sessions with that Dr Phil.:)
It Goes To Show
Im not the brightest bulb on the tree thats for sure;), but I managed to sit myself down and create a product of my own, and because I knew the information inside was working really well for me, I knew my first product was of good quality, and something that I can stand behind as the proud owner.
Knowing that you have something you value really stimulates the mind to “get it done”, by not rushing it, and making sure its all set out nicely and in an understandable way(I did need help with that part), you overcome the hurdles, last week I had no idea how to set up a product via email delivery, I had not really played around with paypal too much either, but because I had the drive of my product behind me, I had the momentum to carry on and learn what I needed to know to “get it done”.
Momentum is very important, drive is another good factor to add to the mix, and this is what creating your own product brings to you, you have momentum because everyday you get up you have a project to work on, and you also have drive because you can see that point you need to get too which is the completion, but another thing you get is reward, not only a reward for finishing it, but also a reward if someone else sees its value the same way you do, and if you put passion into it, that will show to others also.
As I said before if I can do this, any of you can too, even if you give it a little try you might get that momentum going in you too. So far this report has made me $84, and thats money I would never have even seen sitting in front of the TV watching the news, but I decided to put my time to better use, and im glad I did. Try it yourself.
