Kindle In The Wind

Amazon Kindle 2

Have you heard that Amazon has sold over 250,000 kindles, now with the release of Kindle #2 those numbers are just going to skyrocket to extremes, they even estimate the sales of the kindle are around $86 – $96 million!!.

Here is a chart for 2008 / 2009, and also projected sales for 2010..

Kindle Chart

Kindle Chart

So with over 2 million Kindle sales expected by 2010, and around 3 million Kindle book sales expected by then also it should start to ring bells in your info product creating head?.

Did you also know that you can publish a book on the Kindle for FREE today, neither did I!, until about an hour ago when I published The Twitter Technique on it;).

Publish On Kindle

Well I say for free which is true, but you only make a commission on everyone they sell for you, its like having Amazon as your affiliate, but I don’t mind them taking a cut if they can do all the work for me to try and sell it;).

Now I don’t know exactly what to expect from being published on the Kindle but I thought id give it a shot anyway, my book will be live in 24-72 hours they tell me, so until then I’ll just wait around and see what comes of this, then let you know as soon as anything happens, hopefully from some beach in a far off warm place;).

How Do You Do It?

If you cant wait to hear back from me before you publish your info product, then I have a guide for you, this is the one I followed when I set up my ebook on the Kindle, its very easy to follow at only 9 pages, but lists all the relevant info you need to consider when publishing your product.

You may have to play around with the layout a bit before you get to publish it, but once its done and look easy enough to read in the cool kindle preview screen, you are good to go!, hit that publish button and wait like I am;).

To The Future

If the Kindle is the future of reading devices, then as info product creators we cant afford to not try it out at least once, who knows what it will do for you, but if they expect book sales on the Kindle to be around $300 million by just 2010, by starting now we have a huge head start on the people that will take notice further down the line.

I dont know about you but a piece of $300 million would be mighty nice right now;)).

If you want to take a look at the Kindle, and maybe even buy one, visit it on Amazon right here Kindle

  • Thanks for the great info. Im working on my ebook currently and its great to find so many different outlets for it. I see a great opportunity to expose your work through the Kindle. It reminds me of the music industry, where mobile music downloading is increasing and forcasted to increase very high by 2012. Mobile phones are now in everyone's hands and it creates a great market for musicians. The Kindle provides a portable, viable source for all book writers, just gotta believe in the stats.
  • I find the process of getting published on Kindle fascinating. I think it's definitely a great choice for anyone putting an ebook or report out there right now. I noticed you can also set it up for people to be able to subscribe to your blog via Kindle, and I love that because it lets you take your favorite blog feeds with you where you might not have been able to before.
  • Thank you very much for sharing that with us. I'm on my way over there now to see if I can publish one of my E books. I'm not sure I'll get many direct sales from it, but there is a certain Kudos to being able to say "Available for Amazon's Kindle"
