Who Needs A Sword When You Have Arrows

We see arrows everywhere, roadsigns, exit signs, sign here icons, maps, we even point to form an arrow in a certain direction, why?, because people are naturally programed to follow arrows, how many times have you gone up to open doors in a store on your way out, both the in and out doors are open and their is nobody coming in the other way, yet we still look for that arrow telling us which one is the right open door to take!, like we might die if we go through the other one!;).

Arrow, How Are You?

You might have seen the recent arrows right under my opt-in box on the right –> , see over their;), well I did this a couple of days ago and already its increased my opt-in signs ups by 20%!, I even have three big arrows on my sales page for The Twitter Technique
why?, because they seem to work, visitors to your site are looking for direction also, what to do, what to see, but on a site their is no real direction, they visit, read your posts and then leave.

But for some reason placing an arrow to an important part directs their attention to it, if they know it or not they have always been programed to follow the arrows, just like in the case with the open in/out doors, it just seems like a natural thing to do right?.

I’m not saying all you have to do is just place a BIG HUGE RED ARROW pointing to a donation button;), you still need to make sure it all makes sense to them otherwise you are wasting your time, but if you know what you want them to see and do once they are at your site, it cant hurt to point it out to them, who knows if they would even have overlooked that part of your site without it, but it seems 20% recently found what I was looking to show them.

Just Dont Be Ugly

If arrows are in your future please don’t make them ugly, you can do it in a nice way that still fits your site without it looking like an eyesore!, and as always content is king, so if your content is not up to par you might as well put a HUGE pink arrow pointing right at the X close window button, this will save them time:)).

But done discreetly they can get you great results like they have done for me, the worst thing that can happen is nothing changes, then all you have to do is put a big arrow in your notepad reminding you to not bother with that in the future:).
