How To Submit To A Kindle Video

I thought id go through the steps with you to get your info products onto the Amazon Kindle, and what better way than a video?.

I had to heavily edit this video to get it under 10 minutes, but it still shows you what steps you need to take to become a published Amazon author, however if you do have any questions regarding the steps then do let me know, I can also send you the full-length video which goes into more detail about these steps.

It would also be fantastic if you use this video to publish your work, to post the links to your product in the comments below, I’d love to see what you come up with.

How To Submit Your Info Product Onto The Kindle Video

Here is the post link I talk about in the video to get the guide

Just to add that once you hit the publish button amazon lets you know that it can take 12-72 hours to go LIVE, in my case it was about 5 days, so don’t panic if you have to wait a couple of days longer, it will hopefully be worth it:).

POST UPDATE:  The images on the Kindle are actually black and white(16 shades of grey), but the Kindle iphone app will show these images in full color;).

You mentioned in your video that the Kindle publishing system might render better if you send HTML. Have you had a chance to test that yet to see if the html file looks better or worse than the pdf version?

Still perplexed about how the ISBN gets assigned. Guess I need to do further research on that. Any recommendations on where I should do my research?

BTW. I really got a lot of value from watching your video, but, as I said in my Twitter post, I think I could get even more from the full version of the video.

Ahhh, it's so nice to be able to comment without squeezing it into 140 characters! :-)

Good work on the video, more comments and/or questions later.

The guide I used suggested that .html files convert better, im not sure if they mean convert sales better, or files better?.

I tried to play around with some html in preview mode, and it seemed that you would get more control over layout than using a .pdf file, but both my ebooks did not display too badly as a .pdf.

For research I would try the Digital Text Platforms forums –> http://forums.digitaltextplatform.com/dtpforums… , they seem to have a lot of further info you can read through.

I sent you a DM about the full length video version, I'd be glad to email it to you, I had to shrink this one down because of the 10 min rule YouTube has, the full video runs just under 30 mins long.

lol @ the 140 chars comment, I hear that one:))

Boy, it didn't go that easy for me. It wouldn't take the pdf. I had to do html. Then I had to modify the graphics and upload in a zip file. A also had to hand code the table of contents, and the hard page breaks in between chapters. I'm waiting to see it appear… The first time was a nightmare. Should go easier on the next one – I hope!

You don't need an ISBN on an ebook. Just leave it blank.

That does sound like a nightmare!!, when did you submit your product?.

Just to add to this. I followed the procedure and everything went really easily, Uploaded fine, previewed perfectly, then I was taken to the account screen, where, after all that effort, I found out Kindle books can only be uploaded by US citizens, which is absolutely ridiculous. Even more annoying is that they don't bother telling you that on the first screen. So unless you have a US address, forget it for now.
Shame, as Elliot's guide was excellent.
