Clickbank Update: No lift off as yet, but no surprise to me because I made a couple of big mistakes!, and that’s what I’ll tell you about today, and also give you a heads up for when you find yourself in this position.
Mistake Number One
The first mistake was brought to my attention from a link I sent out about The Twitter Technique, I sent out a tweet telling people to check out my new sales page, a couple of hours later I got a reply from someone telling me to check the site in Internet Explorer!, which I did and let me tell you it was an ugly scene.
My sales page that looked great in Flock and Firefox looked like a train wreck in Internet Explorer. Not only was it all over the page, you also had to scroll to the right or left to even be able to read it properly, it was awful and I was very embarrassed, even more so because I use to design websites and checking that site in all browsers was a must!.
This time however I think it may have passed me by to check it in IE, man did I look stupid. The worst thing was that all the people(customers) coming to my site before I made the changes to fix it would have closed that window right away, that’s if they could have even managed anything while laughing so hard at the worst sales page of all time. From left to right my site was so long I was getting tweets from astronauts asking me if I moved the great wall of China to my front door!?.;).
That was the first mistake, all you have to do to stop this happening to you is check your sites in other browsers!!!. and……
Goto Browser Shots.org

Browser shots will take pictures in all the browsers you see above, well at least the ticked ones. It will take screen shots of the page you enter into that URL box at the top of the page, and then return the results once it has them ready, and by results I mean it will show you just how your site looks in those browsers. This is great to see any errors or issues you may need to address in the way your site appears in various browsers.
A good tip to find what browsers to tick is to take a look at your stats in either your cpanel for your site, or analytics, they both list the browsers of your visitors to your site, now all you need to do is match them up with the browsers above and tick them. Once this is done you can see exactly what your potential customers are seeing on their screens while they browse your site.
If you do see a big problem that you need to fix, then this is a good thing, because you may have found a reason why your site is not converting as expected, so once your issues are fixed you will again open up that avenue to potential buyers.
Mistake Number Two
Mistake number two was not having the foresight to see what affiliates needed, I just said to them “Hi, here is you link, now promote”, well not in those terms exactly but I didn’t give them any tools whatsoever.
It was only until I got this forum reply when I was asking for affiliates…
I joined Will see what happens… I wanted a banner, but no such luck????
He wanted banners, not a lot, just “a” banner, yet I didn’t look ahead to see what affiliates might need in order to promote my product, yes I AM MEAN!;).
So I looked around and asked a few people about it, I got some great advice back. If we want to have others sell our products why not help them out!, its a win win, we create our products then we offer it to people to promote for us, so they then go off trying to get other people to buy our stuff, but we can make it a lot easier by giving them some tools to do it.
I took this advice as well as diving back in to my info millionaire course to find a great way to do this, I came up with a simple but powerful affiliate’s page -> Twitter Technique Affiliates Page. This is a resource for any affiliate to use that wants to promote The Twitter Technique, it has banners, adwords ppc stuff, video code, how to sign up to Clickbank, and other free ways to promote it.
This means that someone interested in becoming an affiliate has all the basic steps covered to start to promote my product, all they have to do is copy and paste a few things onto their affiliate page, and then start to make some money with me;).
Feel free to sign up as an affiliate if you do look over the affiliate page;).
I hope this post keeps some of you from making these mistakes, a few small things here and there can add up over time, but as long as you know what to look for this should keep you in good standings in the future.
The most important part is to take notice of what others tell you, if it were not for someone letting me know about both of the problems above I may have never known until much later, and by then it could have been too late. The IE visitors to my site before I fixed the display issue’s will never be back again, lost, gone forever, unless one night in a drunken stupor they want to remind themselves of that great day they found the worst sales page in history!.:)
Now with my browser issues fixed and a new affiliate resource page completed, im waiting with bated breath for a first clickbank sale!.
