I’ve landing now at the beginning of a new niche project, but different than before this time, because this time I actually feel like I have a clue about what to do. We’ll sort of;).
Establish Myself First
I have the keywords and domain name all set up, and also have a nice looking blog with a couple of posts already live. I now need to find out how my competition ticks, its not an extremely competitive niche by all means, but some of the sites at the top of the search engines are starting to resemble stubborn old men!.
With my fresh new baby blog hitting the listings too, its not going to be an easy ride that’s for sure. But this time I know what im up against from researching what kind of links the top sites are getting. I’ve been using Market Samurai to tear them apart bit by bit, I just love the way Market Samaria can do that for me, it would take days otherwise.
So I know what kind of links I am looking at bringing in, but what else are the top sites doing to raise their profile?.
Twitter World
I entered the world of Twitter to see what my niche was up too, and luckily enough I did not see a great deal of competition in my market. Just the odd twittering here and their. But the good news is people are talking about my niche all over twitter, I found this out by checking the search feature on Tweet Deck!.
So im starting to use my own techniques I wrote about in the Twitter Technique to establish myself on Twitter in my market. Hopefully I can use Twitter as another traffic generating portal. The funny thing is I sent a link to my post through Twitter to my new followers, and 95% of them clicked on it. Boy its nice to be away from the IM niche!.:)
Offer FREE Stuff
In an attempt to build a list in this niche im also working on a report I can give away for free!, It’s not going to be a novel, but as long as I keep it informative and make sure it contains great information, I will hopefully build up a nice list.
I’ll also keep the blog posts as informative as I can, and may also start to do some videos to see how this niche reacts to that too. But for the first few weeks I’ll concentrate on building a good brand, and an even bigger list;).
Of course I have some affiliate offers in a few places, and im using blog posts to review some products too. I would often feel bad about doing this on this blog, but in this other niche the only clickbank people have heard of is an ATM machine!;).
Physical Products
Another big difference in this niche is the fact that some of the products are physical ones, so this will also give me the opportunity to find out how well physical products convert. I can still use good old downloadable products if I wanted, and i’ll probably try both over the next few posts. But for now my main goal is to bring in the traffic without using PPC.
If I hit the number one spot in Google for this keyword I could expect around 200 visitors per day, and that’s not taking into account the traffic I can probably bring in from just Twitter alone. So im looking forward to this challenge and will stick this one out until it starts to make a profit. So it looks as though I need to keep a hand on my marketing A.D.D then it seems:).
