Operation Apple Imac

Apple ImacI’ve had enough of PC’s!!, one of my computers is so old I cannot change anything on it unless I get express permission from the historical society!. Now my laptop is following suit, unable to cope being the sole provider for my marketing efforts, its starting to slow down and delay more than and snow covered airport runway!.

It seems the rest of the world have Imacs, and I have a Dell, which stands for dell-usion into thinking I have a state of the art computer.

I Need An Imac

That’s right I need an Imac!, at least that’s what im telling my wife!. “It’s not just for me, its for our future”, im honing that line a little better the more and more we go into the Apple Store.

But I’ve decided to no longer set foot in the Apple Store, only when I am ready to make a purchase will I ever set foot past that door again!!. The only problem is, I need $3000 to do it!.

My wife says I can get one, if I make enough to buy it.

Operation Apple Imac

These are the rules….

  • I cannot use savings or regular work pay to buy it.
  • I have to earn from using what I’ve already got to get one.
  • It all has to come from my online efforts.
  • No loans or borrows.
  • And I cannot sell her dog!!!.

Oh and I’ve got until Sept to do it!!. This is going to be tough.

But I also thought this would be a great idea to give me a purpose and target to aim for!, until now my mind set has been to make money online without any idea of a plan as to what I wanted.

Which is probably why im so disorganized and have no apparent blueprint. I need to break this down a bit to really find out what I need to before the Sept deadline.

Sooooo I got about 5 months until Sept to make a target of $3000, so I figure I’ve got 123 days-ish to complete the goal. That’s 3000/123 = $24.39 per day until that time, and that’s not counting if I use any PPC or any other outgoing costs.

Going even further 24.39/24hrs = $1.02 an hour every hour. Either you are going to be reading this thinking that’s a joke, and you could probably find more an hour on your driveway. Or…. you are going to be looking at this thinking WOW that’s going to be tough!.;).

Remember I started with the Thirty Day Challenge, that’s 30 days to make $1!!, im screwed!!!.;).

Fear Not

Things are different this time round from my 30dc days. In my court is now my own product, and also another product nearly complete. And hopefully I’ve gained some more knowledge since those days, that’s another reason to give myself a target, to test myself!.

It’s too easy to slack off, or not write another few pages if you do not have an outcome in mind. For instance because Ive now got an object in mind I’ve been able to focus on that and write 100+ more pages in a report in just under a day.

This Imac project is for fun, but with a serious undertone to it. I needed a good kick to get going again on the right track. I cant waste anymore time on YouTube watching people fall over, even tho its funny(if they are ok) its not getting me anywhere. That has to stop!.:)

I’m trying to find a plugin that will track dates and even numbers, I want to use this on this blog to chart my progress. Anyone know of anything I can use?.

Anyway wish me luck with this one, im gonna need it;).

  • Good luck, Elliot - I have a 24" Imac and I can tell you it will be SO worth it! You can do it - you have a goal, and you're developing a plan. I have complete faith that you will accomplish it.

What a brilliant idea Elliot ... Good luck ... sounds like its already working big-time re manic outpourings onto the page ... Well done! And who knows it may itself turn into a product !!!

I've a 15" mac pro and since its arrival my desktop has been inconsolable and is now on its last legs of use-ability ... it has a doc appointment next week :( ... info retrieval being key concern or key-hole surgery concern :) ...

Having a mac is a great goal and you'll definitely achieve it ...
  • lol!. Thanks Jane & Lisa.

My laptop is doing ok, but my desktop is not so great. I start a virus scan on it and it takes about 7 months to complete!.;).

I actually don't think i've even turned it on for a couple of months!?.

You both sound as tho you like your Mac's, that's a good sign;).
  • Good luck Elliot! Awesome goal.

I switched to a Mac a couple years ago. I have a MacBookPro but there not the perfect thing either. My Mac has crashed, gotten stuck, and I had to get a new battery for it already. But I do like it.

My old Dell PC no longer connects to the Internet so I will be replacing it with an imac. It just sucks they charge so much. I think they do it because they can get away with it. :-)

I did a video on my Mac crashing and I got some hate mail from the mac fanatics:

But I like it enough that I will be getting an Imac myself here soon. I want one with two monitors for productivity so I need to start saving as well. :-)
  • This is really cool, Elliot!!! I'll definitely be cheering you on now that I know you're doing this!

There is a thing I used a couple years ago to track when I'd exercised and stuff - I'm not sure if it would help you at all, but, it's called 30 Boxes. http://30boxes.com/

    GOOD LUCK!!!! :D
