In fact the next post I write will be all about it, but before I tell you what its all about I just want to make sure it has been accepted by Clickbank. This is the very last step I need to complete before I promote it like a new Cher concert!.

This product will be the only thing that will save Operation Apple Imac now.

I have been up to my ears in code and video edits to get this done. Im going to try a few new things for this product once its ready, the first is to split test 3 different sales pages, one with all the bells and whistles, another plain version, and then I wanted to try out a video sales page to see how that coverts.

It will be interesting to see how they all perform over time, hopefully they will all make some sales for me. Also after the initial downloadable phase is over, I might even try it as a physical boxed product to test that out as well. I’ve been doing my research and a site called Kunaki seems to be highly recommended.

I didn’t intend to neglect this blog over the last couple of weeks, but with the deadline for Op Imac looming I felt it necessary to devote my entire last couple of weeks to finishing this product!, for instance summer is nearly over and im still as white as I was in December, you could seriously use dry erase markers on my arms to preform a presentation!;).

Anyway I must now go and see how my Clickbank request is coming along, wish me luck;)).

I have been knee deep in video creation and manually coding new webpages to complement the new project, which will hopefully be ready later next week all going well. This is very exciting and is also giving me plenty to work on rather than waste time browsing the web.

Another idea I want to implement with this product is to capture the entire process of how I launch it, I had the idea to keep records of the steps I will take good or bad while promoting this project, that way not only will I be able to learn from it, but I can also share it with the readers of this blog too.

As soon as I have everything 100% complete, I will then turn on the camera on myself to document just how far I can take this idea. It may even turn into an info product in itself?.

If you are following the SEO Case study I’ve been posting about don’t worry, I’ll be updating that over then next couple of days with the next part. And for followers of Operation Imac it’s not been a good week, I’ll post a longer update about it over the next couple of days too.

I’m hoping that once the new product is launched it will give Operation Imac the boost it needs, maybe I can still make the Sept 1st deadline. Whatever happens its going to be a close run thing, and I’m running out of options.

So yes I’m still here and still writing posts, but it gets very busy when putting the finishing touches on a product as well as working a regular job, I have to make sure the time I spend while at this computer is used wisely, and is always for the benefit of progress!;).

Last weeks total was at $20 for the week, and I mentioned that Kindle sales for The Twitter Technique were down maybe because of the lack of Twitter talk on the news. So I decided to take a look at the sales copy on the product page to maybe make adjustments, its when I navigated to my books amazon page that I noticed…..

The price on the Kindle  edition was raised from $15 to $27!!!, ARRGGHHH!!. Who could have done such a thing without asking me?, surely this is a conspiracy that only the x-files team can solve, but instead what actually caused the price increase was me being a dumb-a$$ again.

When I actually submitted the Kindle edition of the ebook, for some reason I listed it at $27 which was the same price as the downloaded version. When submitting a book on the Kindle you can enter any price you want, but depending on guideline’s set by Amazon they can adjust it by what they think is more suitable for size/content.

Amazon set the price at $15, but still displayed the “list price” as $27 on the product page. This was great for me because every person browsing to my page would see that they got a huge discount form $27 to $15!, bargain.

It was last week that that $27 list price became the real price and it killed me!, obviously with my competition pricing Twitter books at $10-15, my $27 price point was going to get less buyers than an ice cream truck outside an igloo!.

So all I really had to do was adjust the price back right?, well yes and no. Because The Twitter Technique was selling really well at $15, its Amazon Sales Rank(which is a ranking system Amazon use to track how well books are doing in the listings) was flying high. At its best the sales rank was at 7k out of hundreds of thousands of books, its now at just over 100,000. OUCH.

Another thing that dropped because of the lack of sales was its listing for a “twitter” related search in the Kindle store, The Twitter Technique was at number 1 position but has now dropped down to number 3, so their is work to be done.

The good thing is I now know what it takes to get it back up in the sales ranking, so with all things said(or typed), im not too worried about it.

Hardcover To The Rescue

What saved me last week from this Imac total being ZERO, was The Twitter Technique hard cover version. I started to sell my ebook as a real hardcover printed edition, and it was a few sales from this that brought last weeks Imac total to $21.21.

Hopefully this will continue selling well as a hardcover, and my Kindle sales will come back to life too?

What I Learned  From Last Week

Track Track Track. I really should check product pages everyday just in case this happens again, rather than just blame other circumstances right off the bat. Had I done this I could have made the changes in a matter of hours rather than days.

But its another important lesson learned for me, as I wrote in a previous post Making Mistakes are part of what I do, and this one stands as another one in the bag that I wont repeat again(hopefully).

I’m now off to check product pages and buy ice cream from outside my igloo;).

What is Operation Imac??

Just $20 for the entire week!, at one time I was doing that amount per day so what’s changed?. The biggest thing is the fact that I’ve been very busy trying to finish my new product, which has taken time away from me fully concentrating on Operation Imac. But on a positive note i’m hoping this new product will boost sales and income toward Op Imac.

Another pain in the butt is the fact that Twitter news has been well down on what it was, and this has taken its toll on The Twitter Techniques Kindle sales, I was finding that during the Ashton Kutcher and Oprah Twitter news taking place I was making on average about 2 sales per day, it just shows you how news items can really help related products;).

The good news is everything im working on now will hopefully turn around to benefit this project in the end, and while im doing it im learning all the time too. It may not happen overnight, but im hoping it happens before Sept 1st;)).

What’s Operation Imac?

Just as the title says, making mistakes is good!. I have made my fair share of mistakes in my short time in internet marketing, like creating a sales page for my ebook that displayed like a can of spaghetti in Internet Explorer, or the time I just let a Google PPC campaign run without adjusting the ads display date to that day, it was only when I noticed that issue and corrected it that I discovered I’d blown $150!!, that’s what you get for not setting a daily budget!.

Another great mistake was while creating a screen cast video, I actually said out loud what my password was while typing it in!, I didn’t catch that but luckily someone honest did and let me know immediately about the situation, leading me to change all my passwords/usernames very quickly!;). But for each mistake…

1. I was creating a sales page for a product.
2. I was trying Google PPC.
3. I was creating a screen cast video.

I was doing something;)

Don’t Be Afraid

So many times people look at things and worry about the mistakes they could make by doing it, or they paint a huge picture in their head of the negative outcomes rather than the positive. And for most people they would even not attempt a new endeavor but settle for the normal safe way to do things, the things they have always done, and they expect different results??

And I was exactly the same, I didn’t really want to get out of my depth at anything, and because I was new to internet marketing in-depth was really anything I was looking at doing. So one day I just decided “WHATEVER!”, if you never try you never know right!, and from that day I changed my approach on everything I do.

I approach things now with “Just Do It” attitude and its really paying off, sure at times I make myself look like a complete idiot and make more wrong turns than a blind bird, but I look at each mistake as a learning curve toward me mastering that situation next time;).

No-one is great at everything, and everyone will makes mistakes at anytime, and we’re no different, but its the way we learn from those mistakes that makes us better at what we are trying to do, by never giving up and persevering I…..

1. Made sales from my sales page.
2. Learned a whole lot about PPC.
3. Taught someone something is a screen cast – not including my password;).

So don’t let mistakes mute what you really want to do, make them amplify an ever improving you!;)

Another resource I currently have my head in is Dan Thies’s search engine optimization ebook Seo Fast Start (2009). This ebook is all about the right ways to optimize your sites, no black hat tricks involved, just good honest and clean SEO information that will hopefully rocket your pages to the top of the search engines.

Dan Thies is an SEO optimization expert that’s been heavily involved in the SEO world for over 10 years, his aim with this search engine optimization ebook is to teach as many people as possible the right ways to incorporate SEO into their web pages.

In each one of the chapters so far their has been things I never really thought mattered before when optimizing a site, and this is probably one of the reasons why my sites are not exactly bursting to the top of Google!.;)

Ongoing Optimization Plan

The best way I usually learn is by doing, so I thought it might be a good idea to use the information in this ebook on my blog here at Flopidle. I’m hoping I can turn my search engine fortunes around without having to buy my visitors from Google Adwords.

I’m also going to use it on a new blog I’ve only just started, this will hopefully be a better case study as I can follow the rest of SEO Fast Start while building this new blog. Then after a few weeks I can compare the two sites to see what one did better.

So expect a few changes to this blog in the near future, I may need to move things around, call it a late spring clean;).

Me!, A Super Affiliate?

Obviously I’m no super affiliate, although at one time I did fly through the air celebrating my first $1 online!!. I do however have the desire to become a super affiliate, so I just needed to learn affiliate marketing from someone that is already at the top of their game.

I cant say enough good things about the Super Affiliate Handbook, it really is an affiliate’s turn in the right direction. Take my word for it;)

I’m back from vacation now but it seems at the same time my online earnings were also away, I missed last weeks update post but the $15 is including that weeks total!, ouch.

At this rate im falling way behind the $27 a day target I need to make the Sept 1st deadline, I need to maybe re-think my plan of attack?

I bought an ebook all about a super affiliate’s approach to affiliate marketing, im hoping this will sort out the many questions I have, and hopefully point me in the right direction to turn this thing around.

Im half way through the book as I write this post and so far its been an eye opener, especially as it ‘s answered a few of my questions already. I’ll be done reading it over the next couple of days so expect a review post on my findings later on this week.

I now need to get back to work on this target before I get too far behind…..

It’s using this app that enables me to post from a remote location using this tiny iPhone keyboard, who knows how this will come out.

The only way I’m able to do this is through the AT&T echo network, I’m lucky I have just 3bars of service so I’ve been able to still use some forums and Twitter, I just installed the free Tweetdeck app before I left which has been awesome!.

Who knows what I would have done without my phone handy?, I can hear people say “but youre on vacation”, but what else is their to do in the rain;).

I did turn on my laptop last night, and even though I could not get online I got a lot done on a project I’m working on, it’s funny how much you can get done when your not sidetracked by other things.

Anyway if you do have an iPhone check out the free wordpress and tweetdeck app’s in the app store, you can get started with them as soon as you download them.
