As most of you may know already I read allot of ebooks, some free, some not so much, but if they are priced right I figure it cant hurt to find out as much information as I can, after all I am learning, and as long as I have enough money left over to feed the cats, it cant hurt right!?…

With ebooks it really is trial and error, especially when you are involved in internet marketing, you are dealing with pro’s who spend their time writing ebooks and information, then with years of experience behind them at trying to make you buy it, it works, you buy the ebook and begin to read it, if your like me you will have noticed patterns, or basically the same information in different books, just in different stages of the book, its very rare you buy an internet marketing ebook with fresh information in it that you have not seen before, right?..

I subscribed to a forum recently and as a special offer I stumbled across Lynn Terry’s ebook “Fast Cash Strategy”, I downloaded the book with no real anticipation of it being any different than the other ebooks, “Maybe ill pick up a few things”, thats probably what was going through my thick, but well padded head;), and boy was I wrong!, The Easy 7-Step Fast Cash Strategy is just that!, EASY!, its one of those very few times I’ve started to read an ebook and not had that “yep I’ve read that before” moment, its all fresh information for you to easily put the book down, get to a computer, and put that information to work right away!.

The only downside to this ebook is the fact that every ebook I buy from this point on, I am going to have to compare it to this one!, and it just does not look like they are going to cut it!, good!, at least I can save my money then;).

Ebook Review

Even though I said I am going to stop buying ebooks, their are some that catch my attention!, so its inevitable if the price is right and it seems to contain information im looking for, I’ll snap it up, as in the case of Blogging To The Bank 3.0 by Rob Benwell.

I found a review of the book on another blog I frequent, at that time the ebook had not been released yet, but was only a couple of days away from its launch, so I read through the blog review of the book and decided to take a look myself, so in normal style I head on over via the affiliate link, which after buying the book earned the affiliate a tidy sum, lucky #$@$rd!, anyway I clicked on over to the sites sales page to be greeted with..

Now for an internet marketing newbie this is striking some chords, although im not new enough anymore to actually think I can do this also in a month;), but I thought id give it a go.

So I scroll on down past most of the other sales pitch to get to the PRICE part, greeted with the “worth $2000, but you can get this for” part I see its only priced at $37!, not bad I thought and maybe worth a look into, I submit my email and wait 3 days until the release, over these 3 days I being sent emails by the author about the information included in the book, and what it can do for me.

Now hits the launch date and the ebook is being released at 9am, so of course I had to get it right at 9am, I like the way Rob did that, it almost felt like waiting for concerts tickets to go on sale, and your just waiting to see where your seats are going to be, I would say a nervous excitement, Rob did well to create this feeling with the emails prior to its release, and the fact that $37 was an early bird special.

9am! and I click away and purchase the ebook printing it right away, it took a while to print with my old printer, its only 58 pages long but this took about 30mins;), which made my wife very upset as this printing time was cutting into the Anniversary trip time, Opps;)).

Ebook in hand and into the car to read while we were away on our trip, with the thought in my head “If this ebook works, We can take trips all the time, maybe somewhere HOT!!”.

After Blogging To The Bank 3.0

Again its only 58 pages long so reading the ebook took a couple of hours with interruptions, I usually quick read ebooks first, then once I get back to the computer at home, ill take a more in-depth look at it.

My first thoughts were that Blogging To The Bank 3.0 is a very “To the point” book, their is no fluff or in-depth chapters about the techniques being used, its more like a “Do this” type of book, which for some people will be great because its easy to follow, others may feel the need to want more information explained about each one of the steps, as for me, I was 50/50, I like the short and quick approach, and really didn’t have allot of questions at the time, but once I put it into practice, I may change all that?.

Their are some useful tips in the book, and also some great links to other sites you can use while implementing blogging to the bank 3.0, and thats just what ill do, rather than just have an ebook review post, ill post updates as I follow along with the ebook to let you know how its going.

My initial thoughts on the book are good, I think it will be easy to follow and to the point, if I do have a question it also feels like I can just Google it and come up with the right answer, but only time will tell if I can make any money from using the techniques in this ebook, wish me luck..:)

Marketing Obama

After the victory is over and the real work begins, as internet marketers what can we take from the Obama marketing campaign?

I signed up to the Obama campaign a few weeks back now, now being from London I cant even vote, so I left that part to my wife;), but that didn’t stop me from signing up to see how marketers at the top of their game would market such a campaign, and im glad I did.

Hundreds of emails later you really get to see similarities with the way they approached their internet marketing campaign, and the way we see many other internet marketers work on a day-to-day basis, the first thing I recognized was the namesqueeze page….

I forgot what I typed into google, but this sign up box was pretty much the only thing on that page, so naturally I signed up for it, then not long after got the regular “thanks for signing up” email sent back to me, then came a rally email asking for support and basically making you feel part of what was going on, the copy they used was amazing, you can watch him give a speech on TV and feel empowered, but they even did an amazing job of this in the emails, their emails were crafted to perfection.

Stories were told about people just like yourselfs that wanted a change, and Obama was the man to make these changes happen, all you had to do was donate if you could, and then vote, every email was the perfect sales letter!.

Its no wonder they were able to raise over $400 million, Obama was everywhere, on magazines, newspapers, TV, DVD, Cds, and I even saw a kids book aimed at children 3-5 with guess who on the front!?, yep, the man himself, if you do take a look at the site, you will also notice the “Obama Everywhere” box……

His marketing team really did cover everything here!, profiles galore!, it really does go to show you the power of the internet and also how great web2.0 can be, didn’t they say it was dead?, I think they may need to rethink that;).

Its great that the power of such a thing as web2.0 shone through for the new president, but how can this help us as internet marketers?, how can we take what the Obama team did to win the election, and put this into action with the things we do with our own internet marketing?.

If you step back from the $400 million and the millions of supporters all over, the basic bones of the marketing campaign were the same as many other successful campaigns it seems, you have your market thats calling out for something “change”, you have your product that can answer these calls and solve the problem “Barack Obama”, and you have the marketing team behind both that can marry the two together “His marketing team”.

So to put this into action in your own internet marketing follow what the best of the best did, find that market that needs something whether its a product or information, then find the product they need that could solve the problem, ebook or product itself, then use what you know from the Obama campaign, get the site, grab the emails, write great copy curtailed to your product and promote it everywhere!, and I mean everywhere you can;), remember you dont need to make $400 million, so it should be allot easier than trying to win somebody an election;).

I’m going to end with a thought, allot of internet marketers worry about sending too many emails to people, most of the time they consider it maybe as spamming, but in the height of the election campaign I would probably get about 3-4 emails a day form the Obama campaign, these emails were themed on the actual news event that were taking place as it happened, and by no means did I once consider it too many emails, in my view its just a way to keep interested people interested, and the ones that don’t want to read it can pass it right by;)).

Internet Marketing Blog

Flop Idle is now an internet marketing blog, for a while for experimental reasons I was trying to find out what happens if you do not plan on targeting any keywords in particular, so I just released this blog and began to write, to be honest, I didn’t even know what I was going to write about in particular myself;), was Flop Idle going to be a dairy?, a personal blog?, a hub for all my other projects?, I just didn’t really know, but thought it would be fun to see what happens when you do not target a particular keyword.

You know what happens??, NO TRAFFIC, thats what happens, also the most random keywords to find your site ever known;)…

At least im at number one for “flopidle”;)), but its interesting to see how certain words are ranked in google, even when you don’t even mean them to be.

Internet Marketing Blog

As most of my posts are related to internet marketing, I thought it would be fun to target that term and see how I do, its not going to be easy but im in this for the long haul, so why not try!?, its something to aim for and am ready to do, hence the fact that its 6.45am and im writing a post about it;).

What I do need to do however is earn some money, so far only $15.96, but I think more people would also read this blog if that were $1,500,096, I had to get the 96c from amazon in their somewhere;), but making a bit more than I am would be nice, nice enough to quit the “day job”, or pay for heat;), but whatever comes in, it would be nice.

This internet marketing blog is going to be allot of fun and hard work, but I’ve come this far so why not continue on and see how it goes?, I’ll start posting more on the things I find out works well for me, and hopefully you can incorporate them into your blogs and get similar results too.

I’m also going to start sending my pick sites of the week in my newsletter, I found some great sites last week, so I think it would be a nice idea to give to subscribers of this blog, and also I’m working on a weekly newsletter as well, this will also have tips and newbie advice in it too, so please sign up to this blog and keep updated with me:).
